The date of her birth is March 29th, 1985 in Roswell, New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza has been her birth name. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parents Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). Her heritage is Mexican American but has American nationality. From the time she was a kid, she's had a keen determination to be involved in sports. Gerina first began playing golf at 15 years of age. Gerina attended Goddard High School. When she was a student in high school, she had won at the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. A volleyball player, she also competed in state competitions. She was a student at in the University of Texas in 2003. In her senior year she took home the top prize in every competition which she participated in. While in her university career, she was crowned Conference USA individual champion player of the year as well as UTEP Female Athlete of the Year.
